About this role

As National Key Account Manager – Fleet & Used Car, you will play a key role in establishing smart as a strong player in Belgium’s B2B and fleet market. You’ll define and implement the fleet sales strategy, build strong relationships with major leasing companies and commercial partners, and work closely with our retailer network to grow B2B business.

On the used car side, you’ll drive remarketing operations, shape residual value strategies, and align with European standards. This role is central to smart’s growth, bridging local execution with smart Europe GmbH’s strategic direction.

 

Your responsibilities

Fleet Sales:

  • Define and track fleet sales targets and KPIs, aligning with smart Europe’s strategic goals.
  • Identify key B2B segments in Belgium, prioritize prospects, and drive acquisition of high-impact fleet customers.
  • Develop strong relationships with leasing companies, financial partners, and large corporate clients through tailored sales agreements.
  • Support retailer fleet teams by providing tools, processes, and guidance to grow B2B sales through their networks.
  • Collaborate with smart Europe’s central fleet team to capture pan-European opportunities and ensure process alignment.

Remarketing:

  • Develop and manage the Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) program to drive retailer profitability and maintain high used car values.
  • Ensure nationwide CPO adoption, supporting retailers with tools, marketing initiatives, and adherence to brand standards.
  • Collaborate with RV setters, lease companies, and data providers to monitor market trends and protect residual values.
  • Establish remarketing solutions for end-of-lease vehicles to keep them within the smart network.

Forecasting and Reporting:

  • Develop and monitor sales and ordering forecasts, adjusting plans based on market trends and account feedback.
  • Deliver accurate sales reports and track performance, identifying issues and recommending corrective actions.

Representation:

  • Act as the main point of contact for dealers, agents, smart experts, and key external stakeholders, fostering strong, long-term relationships with customers, residual value providers, and business partners.
  • Represent the smart brand at customer meetings, dealer events, local fairs, and industry gatherings to strengthen brand presence and market engagement.

 

What you bring along

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a comparable field, ideally with a focus on sales or account management within the automotive industry.
  • 4+ years’ experience in automotive key account or sales management, ideally with major retailer groups.
  • Proven ability to turn sales targets into actionable plans and deliver measurable results.
  • Experience managing multiple accounts simultaneously with strong attention to detail.
  • Solid background in negotiating complex contracts and implementing profitable sales strategies.
  • Deep understanding of sales, used car processes, marketing, network management, and digital transformation.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills in Dutch and English; confident in building lasting relationships.
  • Passion for electric mobility and the ability to think strategically, anticipate market trends, and identify business opportunities.
