Your responsibilities

  • You plan, adapt, coordinate and manage marketing activities in Belgium with a focus on digital channels that effectively support the customer journey from interest to vehicle ownership and throughout the ownership phase
  • You implement the European communication strategy in the Belgian market to support product launches, national sales targets, and brand objectives
  • You steer search engine and display advertising incl. page performance optimization to bring leads into the sales funnel, constantly delivering high conversion rates
  • You continuously monitor and analyze the performance of all campaigns against KPIs and develop appropriate action plans to optimize digital marketing activity
  • You steer and coordinate marketing agencies on market level as part of a pan-European agency approach to execute central event concepts and sponsorship/partnership marketing incl. events and test drive activities in the Belgium
  • You manage the product offering and marketing campaigns on the local eCommerce platform, website, and other owned media platforms, considering language and legal requirements
  • You ensure brand consistency and campaign efficiency by closely working together with the central marketing team at smart Europe, thereby aligning upcoming activities and offerings across channels and markets and share best practices for the roll out in other markets
  • You proactively identify local market opportunities for partnerships, co-branding, influencers, etc. and work with central marketing team at smart Europe to realize cross-market synergies
  • You support Dutch retailers with all retail marketing content and related POS material, ensuring that all content is in line with brand CI, campaign guidelines, etc.
  • You provide necessary training to retailers for local marketing and eCommerce topics and monitor retailer marketing KPIs and trends, showroom visits, lead generation, conversion
  • You continuously collect feedback from customers and agents and make recommendations to local and central teams for improvements to marketing campaigns, eCommerce platforms and product offers
  • You represent local market requirements (incl. legal, cultural, customer behavioral trends and factors) as part of the pan-European team and co-create a digital sales strategy, media plan and allocation of marketing budgets


 What you bring along

  • You have a bachelor’s degree or university degree in business with a main focus on marketing, or comparable
  • You have digital performance experience with a broad marketing understanding in a digital-first environment
  • You have experience in ecommerce in a fast-moving retail industry (eg fashion, technology, automotive); start-up experience is beneficial
  • You have experience in experiential marketing or events
  • You have a holistic understanding of customer journeys, you know how to implement strategies, and analyze performance throughout the purchase funnel, from lead generation through to customer retention
  • You have experience with paid media, preferably display and programmatic advertising, content syndication, social media, and SEO
  • You have a high affinity and understanding of eCommerce and the online customer experience
  • You have a good understanding of omni-channel marketing strategies and tools
  • You have an understanding of the creative process in a digital environment with the ability to contribute to the development process
  • You are proficient with the use of analytic/BI systems and digital marketing tools for editing and publishing content, and you are passionate about leveraging analytics to drive insights, strategy, execution and ultimately results
  • You inspire confidence, encourage a positive working atmosphere and create trust
  • You act strategically as well as tactically and anticipate market developments, innovations and challenges
  • You identify business opportunities and you are flexible to using new business tools and approaches
  • You are fluent in Dutch or French & English; any other European language is a plus
