About the role

 

The Intern VSC is operationally responsible for a subject of the supply chain within the logistics team like ocean transportation, VPC steering, EU-distribution, logistics quality and/or logistics IT. This includes being responsible in the mode of transport and give orientation and transpareny to all other team members. As well the person is coordinating in his responsibility with all interfaces within and outside of smart EU.

 

Your responsibilities

 

  • Track and communicate vehicle logistics status from production through to final handover, ensuring end-to-end visibility by integrating data from ERP, Transport Management System (TMS), and third-party logistics providers (3PL)
  • Plan and coordinate vessel shipments in alignment with carrier schedules and market requirements, ensuring efficient and timely transportation
  • Support market-based logistics operations by coordinating with carriers and stakeholders to maintain a smooth and uninterrupted logistics flow
  • Manage carrier performance by maintaining and updating relevant data, enabling effective tracking and evaluation of 3PL service quality
  • Coordinate and communicate customs requirements with internal and external partners, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations and processes.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of logistics data across ERP and TMS systems, supporting seamless IT data flows and operational reliability.
  • Oversee and maintain the damage claim process, including monitoring, documentation, and support for market-related claims.

 

What you bring along

 

Education

  • Student in Logistics, Business Administration or comparable education

 

Knowledge / Functional Expertise

  • Very good logistics knowledge – preffered in Outbound Logistics
  • IT skills - SAP/ Transport Management Systems / Microsoft Office especially Excel and Power BI
  • Languages: Fluent in English (speaking and writing) - other languages especially German and Chinese are beneficial
