Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled IT Architect to support our architecture team in overseeing and governing smart’s IT portfolio. This role is pivotal in shaping the technical landscape of smart Europe, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, establishing and enforcing architectural governance and guardrails, and driving innovation across the organization through both strategic oversight and hands-on technical activities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • You contribute in the team holding the technical design authority for the IT Digital Portfolio across the company.
  • You maintain a comprehensive technical view of smart’s IT landscape.
  • You ensure that applicable regulatory standards and legal requirements are met through the implementation of compliant IT blueprints.
  • You educate and guide stakeholders on the potential of new technologies and methodologies.
  • You drive technical strategies and lead cross-team and cross-organizational projects with strategic value for smart Europe.
  • You collaborate with development teams and outsourced managed service suppliers.
  • You guide the design, development, and operation of architectural guardrails, ensuring alignment with smart’s technological strategy.
  • You explore, compare, and support the selection of technologies for smart’s IT landscape.
  • You design and document complex architectures for multiplatform systems.
  • You define and advocate for proven software development methodologies and coding standards.
  • You contribute to code reviews and hands-on implementation, raising the standard for high-quality code.

 

In this role, you report to smart’s Chief IT Architect and act as his deputy.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in IT architecture, software development, and technical leadership.
  • Proven ability to design and implement complex IT systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to mentor and grow technical teams.
  • Experience in driving technical strategies and leading large-scale projects.
  • Proficiency in modern software development methodologies and coding standards.
