About the Job:

 

The Parts Business Manager oversees and drives all aspects of Parts Logistics and Pricing, ensuring optimal availability of spare parts across 18 European countries. This role is responsible for crafting and implementing effective pricing strategies across all stakeholders. The Parts Business Manager holds comprehensive accountability for operations, processes, and strategic business development related to Spare Parts, including the leadership and development of the team.

 

Your responsibilities:

 

Project Management

  • Develop solutions in a very dynamic environment between different cultures and mindsets  

  • Establish and steer task force groups for specific topics  

  • Support the improvement of the After Sales IT system 

  • Apply best practices coming from own experience and market competitors  

  • Adapt the existing After Sales processes to requirements of new Joint Venture environment 

 

Logistics

  • Steering and Controlling of Parts Pricing along the end-to-end supply chain across borders based on standard policies and procedures (internally and externally)   

  • Steering and executing of operations for Parts Logistics within Europe 

  • Ensuring availability of parts across Europe in cooperation with Mercedes-Benz organization  

  • Troubleshoot and proactively resolve problems and discrepancies within the parts delivery process

 

Pricing methods

  • Responsible to develop or contribute with a strategic direction on the area of Parts cost/pricing  

  • Generate market transparency, understand competitiveness and identify business opportunities   

  • Take active part on implementation of discount strategies that unable an optimal price definition across markets 

  • Maintain constant evaluation of service package offers on profitability and attractiveness 

  • Analyse opportunities for branded offers in terms of accessories in the different markets  

 

Strategy & Coordination  

  • Act as an interdisciplinary contact person for your colleagues for all topics regarding Parts Logistics and pricing  

  • Interact with Joint Venture/Business partners with continuous challenging on existing processes and methods  

  • Be the escalation point for internal and external related concerns 

  • Use diverse sets of inputs to develop a broad perspective on business and people issues 

  • Take advantage of big data analytics to his working responsibility area

 

Functional Lead  

  • Supervise and support employees to ensure all tasks are completed on-time and to a high standard  

  • Ability to manage and motivate team members in an international, virtual environment 

  • Create an inclusive and open environment 

  • Connect with individuals, teams and organizations to build lasting, collaborative relationships that enable business performance  

 

What you bring:

 

Education 

  • University degree in Business Administration, Logistics or comparable 

 

Professional Experience 

  • Functional leadership e.g. projects or teams (3+ years)  

  • Distinctive operative experience in the area of After Sales Parts business management  (5+ years)   

  • Preferably, experience with international and diverse cross-cultural environments ideally gained within the automotive sector (+2 years)   

 

Knowledge / Functional Expertise 

  • Broad Knowledge of processes in the Parts Logistics and Pricing Area 

  • Automotive technical Know-How, preferably with electrical vehicles.  

  • Knowledge of Parts Logistics Management for the areas of Warehousing/Shipping, Customer Order Management/Fulfillment, Finance, Homologation and Applicable EU regulations  

  • Big data knowledge with parts business application  

 

Key Competencies / Soft Skills 

  • Self-driven and out-of-the-box working way  

  • Excellent organizational skills (ability to manage multiple tasks) as well as social organizational skills, with strong intercultural competence 

  • Strong commitment and positive work ethic to deliver results within tight deadlines and in demanding situations 

  • Very good English skills, ideally also fluent in a Non- German European language or Chinese.  

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including writing routine reports and correspondence
