Your responsibilities

  • You provide assistance for the organization by handling the imports and exports of vehicles (and spare parts) from non-EU countries into free circulation (in Europe and third countries)

  • You review customs invoices as well as tax notice of external service providers

  • You communicate with internal business units, suppliers, forwarders, consignees, and logistic providers

  • You assist in arranging all customs related documents for internal and external audits

  • You assist in ensuring compliance with national and international customs and international trade regulations ("Customs Compliance") as well as consulting our internal business units on customs-related issues

  • You assist in the continuous improvement of existing import and export procedures as well as additional customs related projects

  • You coordinate payment forecasts and duty payments with the Accounting Team

  • You assist with the monitoring of import VAT obligations and deadlines

  • You coordinate payment forecasts and import VAT payments/claims with the Accounting Team

  • You support with implementing the agreed Transfer Pricing Model between smart Automobile Co., Ltd and smart Europe

  • You assist with the establishment of internal transfer pricing rules and processes in accordance with the transfer pricing model

 

What you bring along

  • You have successfully completed your university degree in economics or law with a special focus on foreign trade, international trade, export control law and/or a graduate degree in finance (customs)

  • You have at least 3 years of professional experience in customs field in a comparable position, preferably in the automotive industry or in a consulting company

  • You are experienced in international, European (EU) and national customs, preferential and foreign trade law, and safe handling of this legislation

  • You have a good understanding of end-to-end supply chain processes

  • You have good knowledge in import and export business (freight, ship, or air)

  • You possess a sound knowledge of customs and customs valuation law (“Zollwertrecht”)

  • You have good knowledge in import and export business (freight, ship, or air)

  • You are confident in the use of common MS Office programs as well as SAP

  • You think in a process and solution-oriented way and are characterized by a high level of coordination and problem-solving skills

  • You are business fluent in written and oral communication skills in English and German, any other European language is a plus
