Objective of job
This is a unique and exciting opportunity for a tax specialist to become part of the central EU tax team of smart, based in Germany. This role is instrumental in ensuring especially CIT compliance for the smart EU entities and in ensuring daily tax topics are managed in a timely and effective manner.
Your Responsibilities

- Support with the review and management of corporate income tax declarations and related tax filings for smart EU entities
- Support with tax accounting (e.g. deferred tax assets & liabilities)
- Monitor and maintain deferred tax asset/liability schedules
- Prepare and reconcile tax provisions
- Assist with tax computations for financial statements
- Assist with analyzing differences between tax and accounting treatments
- Help track and analyze tax losses carried forward and tax credits
- Support tax audits by providing documentation and analysis
- Stay updated with changes in tax law and accounting standards relevant to corporate income tax
- Collaborate with internal teams and external advisors to ensure compliance with tax reporting obligations
What you bring along
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- university degree in finance or taxation or Business Administration
- or completed vocational training as a Tax Clerk (Steuerfachangestellte/r)
- good understanding of corporate income tax and tax accounting (e.g. deferred taxes, tax provisions)
- at least 2 years of professional experience in income tax field in a comparable position e.g.,in a tax consulting company or tax law firm (Steuerkanzlei).
- familiar with local tax law but also with accounting standards like IFRS or HGB
- Team-oriented with clear and professional communication
Key Competencies / Soft Skills
- You are confident in the use of common MS Office programs (e.g., excel) as well as SAP.
- good communication skills in English (and ideally in German)
- You think in a process and solution-oriented way and are characterized by a high level of coordination and problem-solving skills.
