About the role: 

As an electric-only brand, smart is well placed to exploit fleet and business (B2B) channels. As the Fleet Sales & Remarketing Manager you will be responsible for building smart’s presence in these channels in Portugal and developing relationships with major commercial customers, business partners and leasing companies to maximize our sales performance. You will have a unique opportunity to define the fleet sales strategy, implement processes, set targets and then ultimately deliver the sales. 

You will act as the main point of contact for retailers and partners, developing strategies to leveraging their existing B2B relationships. In this role you will also be responsible for maximizing the residual value of our all new electric vehicle range, whilst developing a remarketing and used car strategy, shaping our relationship with RV setters and working with major B2B customers (Lease Company’s) and our retail network. 

 

Responsibilities (include but not limited to):  

 

  • You are responsible for defining the smart segmentation for the B2B market in Portugal and monitoring fleet sales targets and KPIs.  

  • You strengthen existing relationships while acquiring new B2B customers and negotiating high-level sales framework agreements with large leasing and financial organisations. 

  • You work with the fleet teams of our retail partners to exploit sales through their channels and ensure that retailers have the appropriate tools, training and processes to support this. 

  • You will develop and manage the Certified Pre-Owned programme for the smart retailer network to maximise used car values and deliver profitability for retailers. 

  • You will partner with our European teams to ensure that appropriate extended warranty programmes are developed and rolled out. 

  • You will establish the Re-Marketing platform for end of lease vehicles from other leasing companies to be retained within the smart network as a priority. 

  • Manage delivery against forecast on an ongoing basis and identify any issues/corrective actions required. 

  • You will be responsible for creating and delivering accurate reports on sales targets and results. 

  • You will have the opportunity to build strong long-term relationships with key fleet customers and retailer fleet teams. 

  • You will represent the smart Portugal brand at customer, retailer and industry events. 

 

What you bring: 

 

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics or a comparable degree.  

  • Experience of working with major automotive retailer groups. 

  • Excellence experience in transforming sales targets to action plans and successful results. 

  • Experience in implementing profitable strategies and steering accounts with proven practical experience as user and/or author of USP’s for Key Accounts / fleet customers in a related field. 

  • An excellent team player and a self-efficient champion who’s able to work on multiple accounts/cases simultaneously. 

  • Excellent communication and public speaking skills; Confident and effective negotiator. 

  • Strong analytical abilities with strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to understand new proposals/issues/risks quickly and make good decisions at pace.    

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in Portuguese AND in English; other European language is a plus
